Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

Many people have been asking for one and now it finally exists. An FPS that centers around medieval combat. Swords and shields instead of guns and grenades in this self-proclaimed "First Person Slasher". Of course, melee-heavy first person games already exist, such as Skyrim or Call of Duty. However, this one takes a much more multiplayer and brutally realistic approach to this potentially new genre. 

Beautiful Katamari

Naaa na na na na nuh nah nah~ Katamari Damacy~! I'm not sure what that means, but it sure is fun to roll up people and buildings to that theme. Beautiful Katamari is an abstract and very Japanese game that'll have you rolling up everything into a giant ball so that you may thwart a black hole that has spawned after a royal tennis incident. Yes, you read that right.

"Help Us Stop SOPA" Requests League of Legends Community

Getting political is never fun, so I'll keep this interesting bit of news as brief as possible. The League of Legends Community is getting their fans to speak up against SOPA and PIPA. These are two bills in America that major corporations are wanting to pass to monopolize the internet under the disguise of "Anti-Piracy Bills". Yes, I know that sounds like a conspiracy theory. Unfortunately, I'm not making this up. I'll give you the meaty bit of the post that helps explain how these bills target more than copyright "issues".

Mirror's Edge

Let's pretend baddies are after you and there's too many of them to face on your own. What's left to do? Why not jump across buildings while dodging bullets, sprint through alleyways and climb fences in extraordinary style, leaving enemies caught behind obstacles that you can scale in seconds? Mirror's Edge is just that.

Aperture Science + HL3?

This link hinting toward something big (Here's a screenshot for those who can't see it. It was even snowing lambdas) was posted on Aperture Science's official Facebook page.
This raises lots of questions:

• Why is it titled "Status: Mark 7"?
• Does the snowing lambdas hint at a sort of "Christmas Present" from Valve?
• If you look closely, you can see the aperture bordering the lambda. Why?
• Does this mean Portal and Half Life will have their universes collide in a sequel?

The possibility of an Episode 3 is starting to look more and more plausible as Valve keeps hinting away.


Let's not forget the possibility that this could all be fake and us geeks are just getting our hopes up over these tiny tiny hints. The Valve company is full of trolls. 

Episode 3 Conspiracy Theories!

You know how Valve loves to hint and tease at releases and announcements. Some over-analytical gamers have pointed out some peculiar features about the recent Christmas updates. There are numerous, however sketchy, hints toward the alleged release of the next Half Life episode. 
There are probably three possible outcomes with all of this evidence. I've listed them from most probable to least probable. 

1. Valve is trolling us (again).
2. We're reading too much into this.
3. Half Life 2: Episode 3 is actually in the works.

Plants VS. Zombies

A unique and comical tower defense game. The gameplay is addicting and the jokes will make you snicker. Rarely do casual games become so satisfyingly challenging.

Bethesda games have a huge modding community. Valve (the creators of Steam) is full of geniuses. Bethesda released Skyrim on Steam. The result? The Steam Workshop is going to be integrated with Skyrim mods. Excited? You should be.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Nearly every "horror" game I've played has wound up being an action title with monsters that go "Boo!" when you least expect it. This is one of the very few "horror" games where I've truely been scared.

Sonic Generations

Sega has had a nasty habbit of placing Sonic into games that... well, aren't really Sonic games. You know, "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games", "Sonic Unleashed" and many others. "Sonic Generations" actually plays out like a Sonic Game. That almost sounds like an insult, although with Sega's recent history I'd consider that a huge compliment.

Better Service = Less Pirates

...Or "Common Sense in Marketing." You would think major corporations like Ubisoft or Electronic Arts would understand this by now.

"No one knows the PC market better than Valve, and in a recent interview with TCS, Gabe Newell explained why Valve is so successful. Recently we reported how Ubisoft were shunning the PC market due to Piracy, and imposing heavy DRM on their customers, but according to Newell that’s not really the right way to go about it.
He said that there is a general misconception about piracy, and it’s not really the high cost that forces people to pirate. It’s about the delivery service and how convenient it is to people with purchasing power."

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Another must-have title for the Wii. You should probably make sure you have at least one friend to play with, though. The campaign and combat work best with a friend.
